The Logistics of Being a Judge
What to Bring
-
A timer. Any old kitchen egg
timer will do. You can also buy a new standard timer like this
one at the Radioshack near Blockbuster in Bedford, or funkier
timers online.
-
Blank computer or legal paper to flow
on (or print out several sample flowcharts)
-
Different-colored pens (black, blue,
red, etc. I say pens because pencils smudge). It can be
helpful to flow the two different debaters in different colors, as
in, "Aff-black, Neg-red," whatever your preference.
-
A full water bottle.
What to Expect
Before you go to your assigned room to
judge, don't forget:
-To get ballots from Tab
-To have all your materials ready (see above)
-To eat and/or use the restrooms (as there are not many breaks for
judges)
