MUSIC AT GRAFFLIN
Home CURRICULUM PERFORMANCES INSTRUMENTAL FOR PARENTS FOR STUDENTS

Philosophy

Students develop musical skills and concepts through singing, listening,  movement and instrument playing.  They  participate in the music-making process through a hands-on approach. As a result, self-discovery through experimenting, improvising, creating and performing is the key to skill development and a positive attitude towards music.

GRAFFLIN SCHOOL SONG

Grafflin, Grafflin, Grafflin is the greatest,
In education, it’s the latest!
Grafflin must be the best school made,
It’s great from kindergarten, to the fourth grade.

Young folks, old folks, everybody come,
Come to Grafflin School and have a lot of fun,
Hooray for Grafflin, let’s hear it one more time.
Go, go, Grafflin, you’re right on the line.

Faculty, students, principal, too,
With their help we’ll make it through.
If you compare us to any other school,
You’ll find that Grafflin is really cool!

Composer of the Month

I am considered one of the most famous American composers of the Broadway stage. I collaborated with lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II on Oklahoma!, South Pacific and Carousel, among others. I composed the music for many films including Victory at Sea.

Who am I?

Aaron Copland
